The European Surfing Federation (ESF) continues to build momentum towards the inaugural Euro Rapid Surf Championship 2026 following a successful weekend at Rapid Surf Milano, held at Wakeparadise Milano, Italy.
The event brought together athletes, judges, organisers and fans for two days of competition and development, showcasing the rapid growth of standing wave surfing across Europe. Riders demonstrated the technical skill, creativity and progression that define Rapid Surfing, while spectators enjoyed an exciting display of one of surfing’s fastest-growing disciplines.
Organised by Euro Rapid Surf and Wakeparadise Milano, the competition welcomed participants across multiple divisions and provided an important platform for athletes to gain valuable competitive experience ahead of the European Championship later this year.
Beyond the performances on the wave, Rapid Surf Milano underlined the importance of education, officiating and long-term sport development. Throughout the weekend, Euro Rapid Surf President Jeroen Kuijer facilitated contest management and judging development initiatives, helping strengthen the foundations of Rapid Surfing in Italy and contributing to the growth of a new generation of officials and athletes.
The event also reflected the increasing role of Italy within the European Rapid Surfing landscape, reinforcing the collaborative efforts taking place across national federations, clubs and organisers to expand participation and raise sporting standards throughout the continent.
As the final heats concluded, Rapid Surf Milano once again demonstrated the strength and momentum of the European Rapid Surfing community, while serving as an important stepping stone towards the historic Euro Rapid Surf Championship 2026.
