The European Surfing Federation (ESF) will mark a historic milestone in 2026 with the launch of the Euro Rapid Surf 2026, the first official continental championship dedicated to Rapid Surfing.

The event will take place from 23 to 27 September 2026 at OANA (Ebikon, Lucerne, Switzerland), bringing together Europe’s top athletes in one of the most innovative and fast-growing disciplines in surfing. Organised by Swiss Surfing on behalf of the ESF, the championships will transform the venue into the epicentre of European Rapid Surfing.
Set on an artificial standing wave, the competition will deliver a high-performance format that combines elite sport with lifestyle and community engagement, reflecting the evolution of surfing into new urban and accessible environments.
As the first major international Rapid Surfing event hosted in Switzerland, Euro Rapid Surf 2026 highlights the rapid growth of the discipline across Europe. While still emerging among wider audiences, Rapid Surfing is gaining strong traction, particularly in urban contexts and among performance-driven sports communities.
The championship will serve as a key platform for athlete development and competitive progression, reinforcing the ESF’s commitment to expanding surfing disciplines and creating new opportunities within the European competitive landscape.
The event is hosted by the European Surfing Federation in collaboration with Swiss Surfing, the official governing body for surfing in Switzerland, recognised by the International Surfing Association (ISA) and the Swiss Olympic Committee.
With the support of Toyota as Gold Sponsor, Euro Rapid Surf 2026 is set to establish a new benchmark for the discipline and position Europe at the forefront of Rapid Surfing development.
